Obverse: Inside a circular folded ribbon with a central element bearing the inscription in incuse "ITALIAN REPUBLIC" are two different buildings. In the upper part, the Royal Palace of Caserta (first headquarters of the Academy in 1896), in the lower part the present headquarters of the GdF Academy in Bergamo. Below the author's indication (DRIUTTI).
Obverse Legend: REPUBBLICA ITALIANA, DRIUTTI
Reverse: In the field: in the upper part, the coat of arms of the Guardia di Finanza with above a banner with the agency motto. On the right of the arms the year 1896 and on the left the mint mark. In the lower part hat and sword from Cadet of the Academy and the year 1996. In center, separating the two elements another banner with the value.

The Guardia di Finanza (English: Finance Guard) is an Italian law enforcement agency under the authority of the Minister of Economy and Finance and part of the Italian armed forces. The Guard is essentially responsible for dealing with financial crime and smuggling; it has also evolved into Italy's primary agency for suppressing the drugs trade. The Guardia di Finanza maintains over 600 boats and ships and more than 100 aircraft to serve in its mission of patrolling Italy's territorial waters.
